Well hello there! You might have noticed that it’s been rather quiet on my blog recently. Despite posting on Instagram every other day mu blog has been a little bit neglected because as the title of this post might suggest! I am still in the process of finding the right work/life/blog balance!
I always knew I wanted to start working again once Molly-May is settled at Reception so at the beginning of 2018 I made it my mission to find the right job for me. Ideally I would have loved to work as a Secretary in a School office but sadly most schools want people with experience which I am lacking and to be fair it is rather hard to find those jobs coming up at the local council at all. I considered working in a Supermarket but with no family nearby to help out in the holidays I needed to find something term time only! In the summer a very good friend of mine announced that she will be stopping her little side business to concentrate on growing her already successful other business and when she heard I am looking for work she offered to take it over.
It’s been 6 months since I started my very own creative After School Club and I currently have 3 classes in 2 different schools. It’s a huge learning curve and I am starting to slowly getting into a routine admin wise. Although I only work 4 hours a week (that’s the classes including setting up and packing up) outside the house there is plenty of paperwork, admin and advertising to do too.
So far anybody who have heard about my new work venture told me that it’s very suited to me and I feel that way exactly. It suits my family and myself so well with Mr. C. being on nights he can collect the children from school and prepare dinner before I am back home around 5pm.
The biggest change about me starting working again is a brand new addition to our family in form of my very own car bought with my wages! Meet Greg:
We haven’t had a second car since Finn was little and always worked around it but ever since moving to Bournemouth 2 years ago and Mr. C. Staying twice a week over at his dads in London I felt a bit trapped on those days. With our family car breaking down again just before Easter I knew it was time to get a car which I can use in town and for work. I manage to buy Greg of my friend’s Father in law who use to be a mechanic so I know it’s a very well looked after car and I so chuffed with it! Mostly because I have some independency back which is very nice! I don’t have to tell people I can’t make it because I haven’t got a car anymore and hopefully it will spur me on to attend Zumba classes more regular to look after myself better again! Those are my news right now and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year will bring!
