Yesterday the kids and me made our way to Weymouth to visit SEA LIFE and help Professor Finn on a very special shark-tastic mission! We took a dive into the deep and became the newest recruits of the Jawsome Rangers and fulfilled the mission of finding the missing shark teeth. This brand new spring activity from SEA LIFE marks an exciting collaboration with Play-Doh, offering guests exclusive hands on creative play for hours of fun.
Upon arrival we got given some sheets and pens with all the information involving our mission! Turns out Professor Finn has dropped his bag and lost all of the shark’s teeth. Oh dear! So we had to search for the missing teeth in the tanks, and use the key which was shown on the sheet we had to write down the name of the teeth in the 6 spaces to become a Jawsome Shark Ranger.
Along the way we stopped by the Rockpool to look through the big magnifying glass, check out some sea anemone’s, said hi to the big and the little (Fairy) Penguins and looked for clues where the next teeth might be hiding!
We discovered facts about the different species of sharks and we also learned more about the SEA LIFE sharks and rays. Going through the shark tank tunnel I manage to snap this picture of a shark swimming above Finn unknown to him who pretended to be underwater and hold his breath, he also had great fun writing down all the different names of shark teeth once we found them:
After finding all of the 6 missing teeth and completing the mission we headed straight to Professor Finn’s Shark Lab to give him the good news! He showed us around his lab and we could get hands on with different models of shark teeth.
There was a lot of fun stuff for the children to do. From posing for a picture inside the massive Lego build shark head to solving the shark prey puzzle and of course the highlight lots of tables full of Play-Doh and activity sheets on how to create your very own shark and other sea creatures out of Play-Doh:
At the Shark Lab there was also a little display box for children to put their Play-Doh creations and take pictures of them to share on your social media with the #jawsomesharks to be in with a chance to win annual passes, VIP experienced and more!
The kids did not only qualify to become Jawsome Shark Rangers but they also got rewarded with a very special present as you can see the kids where rather happy with what they got (Mummy not so much because she normally has a no Play-Doh in the house policy! Ha!):
Just before we headed back home we stopped by the Caribbean Cove Adventure Playground which is the absolute highlight on every SEA LIFE visit for the kids and I never say no to a nice hot drink (from Costa) from the little cafe whilst sitting on the picnic bench watching the kids run around having fun!
Finn and Molly-May had a great time on their mission and I think it’s the perfect half term (and beyond) activity for the whole family! Finns highlight most certainly was having a picture taken with his namesake Professor Finn although he did wonder where his crazy white hair went and Molly-May’s best part was watching the fishes swim around in the tank and making a sea-snail out of Pladodo as she likes to call it, I call that another very successful day at Weymouth SEA LIFE!
You can visit the Weymouth SEA LIFE website to purchase your ticket to take part in become the next Jawsome Shark Ranger which will be running from the 16th February to 6th May 2019!
