Mother’s Day is only a couple of weeks away and although Mums would love those thoughtful presents money can’t buy like a lie in, late breakfast in bed or even a childfree day every once in a blue moon there are also some things we would be delighted to receive on that special day! So I thought I put together a useful list for all those dads/kids/friends who are on the hunt for that very special relaxing and nice present that Mum really wants for Mother’s Day this year!
Spacemasks – Interstellar Relaxation RRP: £15 for a Box of 5 (plus Postage)
For 3£ per Mask you can give your loved one the gift of relaxation a way to escape the madness from the day. The heating process works by a thin layer of iron filings entwining with the oxygen molecules in the air. Within minutes of putting on your Spacemask you will feel it warm up and start to mellow your tired eyes and face. The soft jasmine smell (which is in a low concentration to not irritate the skin) will help to transport you away. Somewhere between Jupiter and Andromeda.
I have tried and tested them myself (all in the name of research for you guys!!) and it’s 15 minutes of pure bliss I tell you your eyes and head will thank you for some time off and reenergize those batteries! I love to put on a mask (which is very light and comes with to ear hooks so you don’t have an annoying strap around the head) just before bedtime to drift off into a peaceful sleep every now again especially when its been a rather busy and maybe even challenging day!
*Genie – Make Up Remover by Nadur RRP: 28.50 Euro for a 200ml Bottle
I have been using the Genie Make Up Remover by Nadur every day since mid December now and I am absolutely in love with it. I trialled so many make up removers over the last 3 years but non of them match up to my favourite hot cloth cleanser but this one is very much in the joint top 1!! You only need to use 3 drops so it will last you for quite a while which makes the 200ml bottle for just under 30 Euros a very good price! Its been in use for 3 month and I am still above the label! Before applying 3 drops onto the balm of my hands I shake the bottle so the ingredients mix together and then I gently massage it all over my dry face before wetting my face which makes the oil emulsify to clean your skin. Lastly I remove the lifted dirt & make up with a damp cloth. I once watched a You Tube Video from the Queen of Skincare herself, Caroline Hirons who said to stay away from any kind of remover who foams up and gives the illusion to actually work with deeply lifting those dirt and make up residues from your skin. With the Genie make up remover you not only see the dirt aka make up getting soaked up once you wet your skin but it feels like you just gently oiled your skin at the same time when you wash it off! It’s very nice to apply and when you massage it with your wet hands it turns into a light gel like consistency. It’s really hard to describe but it leaves my skin very smooth. Here is what Nadur has to say about their seriously genius product: ‘The Genie Make Up Remover formula is gently, smooth and very effective for all skin types. It moisturises and hydrates the skin at the same time and is not greasy at all. And lastly its a 100% Natural 2 in 1 cleanser and makeup remover and has ingredients like organic golden jojoba oil, Sweet Almond Seed Oil and Elderberry Fruit Extracts. It is not only non-toxic, organic and ethical sourced with natural ingredients. It is also Gluten Free and Vegan!’
*Heart Magnets from Cheerz Set of 9 for £18
The 9 heart shaped magnets come in a lovely pouch and can be personalised with some nice pictures and an extra magnet with space for a 140 character long message! When we moved into our new house (tell a lie just before we did) we treated ourself to a rather lush (german make) massive freestanding fridge and I have to say it comes in very handy for all those certificates and paintings my kids bring home from school. I am always on the hunt for some nice magnets and when I came across Cheerz and their range of magnets I knew they would be right down my street! So I let Mr. C. and the kids loose on my laptop and they picked 9 special pictures which they hoped/knew I would love from family pictures to some adorable wedding moments they have chosen very well! Mr. C. told me the ordering process was very simple and quick and within 3 working days the order arrived already! The kids couldn’t wait to put them all on our fridge for me to see everyday! Cheerz also send 2 extra hearts 1 with a personalised message and the other one with a love message alongside a sheet of Cheerz also got some cool looking square photo magnets and some retro ones with a Polaroid style frame which would look pretty smooth on your fridge door too! Head over to my Instagram where you can see some more snaps of the magnets in action and you can also find a code for 5£ off to create your very own magnets!
Parenting The Sh*t Out Of Life by Mother Pukka & Papa Pukka from £3.99 (Kindle Version)
I think the description of this book speaks for itself so here it goes:
This is not a book that will help you grow (or raise) a human successfully. But this is a book that might, if you’re not too emotionally battered – and can see through the permanent eye twitch – help you laugh a little more than you cry. But that’s not guaranteed. Nothing is really guaranteed as a nurturer of the small people. Here is one couple’s take on the horrors and humour of modern parenting told from his side and hers: honest, sad and laugh-out-loud funny. From deciding to try for a baby to the harrowing realities of miscarrying, from pregnancy and labour to bringing baby home and trying to reconcile the old life with the new – this book will speak to anyone with a small human of their own or hoping to take that fateful step.
I have read a few pages already and yep there was laughter included and I am looking forward to indulge some more very soon when I am all child free and have a lay in ON Mothersday because my cousin is taking me out for my birthday day out in London the day before, it’s a bit like a double treat which is very exiting!
