After testing out the Hot Wheels Track Builder Stunt Bridge Kit last week we have now moved onto another brand new set which has also just launched in time for Christmas! The Hot Wheels Roto Revolution is a great set to play with friends and thankfully we had a second tester (in form of his little cousin) arrive at ours over the weekend to help Finn on his mission to test their skills in a head-to-head Hot Wheels Roto face off!!
The Hot Wheels Roto Revolution Track Set comes with 2 Hot Wheels Cars ready to be used on the two launch pads! Just like the other Hot Wheels sets it was assembled in a short matter of time (just under 10 minutes) and simple enough for Finn to do all by himself following the easy to read step by step instruction guide which came with the set. All the tracks are marked with A/B/C/D which was helpful for him. Once I put in the 4 Size D Batteries (which are not included in the set) it was go time for the kids.
Once the 2 cars have been placed into their launchers its ready to push the button and see who’s timing is the best one with the cars looping around the set and crashing and smashing into your opponent’s cars within seconds! Last man standing in the loop wins! You can launch into action with this interactive, strategic, skill based track set with the fast action you expect from any Hot Wheels set.
This set is all about timing and it took myself and the kids quite a few attempts before we got the hang of it and after about 10 minutes we where ready and set to go against each other and see who’s car can stay in the track the longest before being through out! Both launchers have good-sized buttons (ones round the other one triangular shaped and out of the 2 cars who came with the set we all preferred the rounder shaped pink one the best it seemed to have the best speed to it. Not sure it was because of the shape or being heavier than the clear/blue style Hot Wheels Car. The Rotation platform is a bit nosey when on so I think we will put the play carpet underneath it for the future to reduce the sound level a little bit.
The RRP of the Hot Wheels Roto Revolution Set is £49.99 and it’s suitable from age 5+ and can be purchased at any good retailer! Please note as mentioned above the 4x Size D Batteries needed for the set are not included!
I asked Finn which of the 2 sets he has been playing with is his favourite and he paused for a second and then told me that the Roto Revolution is amazing but the Stunt Bridge Kit is cool too because he can combine it with Lego. So looks like it’s a draw for both sets coming out on top and will most certainly make a great Christmas or birthday present for any Hot Wheel enthusiast (big or small!). I really enjoyed playing against Finn and seeing his many faces of delights, his laughter and his winning grin when he beat me (over and over again!!).
