Start of the Summer holidays just after celebrating Finn’s Birthday we headed to Germany for 10 days so the kids can spend their annual summer holiday solo at Oma&Opa’s 2 days after arriving I went on a train to go and visit my brother his GF and my adorable nephew J. who is already 19 month old now! It was a lovely visit and the first time I really got to know him a little bit better now that he can walk, talk and express himself it was a lot of fun hanging out with him! On our walk to the park my brother showed me this cool park library which is just a container manned by a volunteer where you can borrow some books for free how amazing is that:
In my child free week I also manage to catch up with my cousins for our cousin meet up which this time also included the partners. As always we had a great laugh and tons of fun. I then spend a few days staying with my Godmum which I last did when I was about 12 years old! It was lovely going shopping with her, having coffee and cake in the cafe and watching old movies with Roy Black in the evening together!
I also met up with an old friend and her 2 boys who I haven’t seen in ages because she doesn’t live local anymore and we realised we have known each other for 22 years! Crazy! We use to go to primary school together, secondary (although not in the same class anymore) and after both doing Apprenticeships we found each other again and lived together for a couple of years which was a whole lot of fun! It’s crazy to think that we are both now Mums to 2 kids each!
The last few days I spend with my lovely Cousin Nicola who is like a sister to me and we just chilled and talked a lot which was very relaxing!
Whilst I was away the kids had lots of fun with Oma&Opa from fishing on the riverside (Finn managed to catch 2 little fishes in a matter of 20 minutes!! Not even the fisherman itself – who btw was a complete stranger who offered Finn his fishing rod to give it a go how nice is that!- is that lucky he told him!) long walk and of course lots of visits to the local lido! Finn was lucky enough to get a super cool vintage carrera racing track which he spend quite a lot of time racing his cars on:
My Godmum Mia visited the kids together with my brother and his GF for some coffee and cake:
I always forget to take pictures of all of us but thankfully Finn the upcoming photographer was on hand to take one of my parents and Molly-May on our last day before we headed to the airport:
Upon arrival at the airport Finn was full off beans (Molly-May just woken up after a long nap in the car hence the face) knowing that soon he will see his Daddy again! He was also rather delighted that we didn’t sit together so he got a window seat all by himself behind us in the plane, lucky boy!
There is one more trip to Germany planned for this year which is in November for a short weekend to see the whole Family for a very special occasion in Cologne and we are rather exited about it!
