Earlier in the year the whole nation got sucked into the newest craze of the Fidget Spinner and like many other parents out there we eventually gave in and bought the kids some although I never felt that easy for them to take them to school or playdates where I wasn’t around due to all the horrible stories who popped up in the news feed deeming them unsafe and untested but with the “new kid on the block” the latest newcomer in the fidget toy world I don’t have to worry no more because the Mokuru fidget toy stick has no metal bits showing and is smooth all around! When we received our Mokuru we went on the internet to check out some Mokuru videos to learn a few tips and tricks so we can make the most out of our new toy!
Here is a little bit more info on the latest craze all the way from Japan:
This handheld wooden toy was originally designed to test an individual’s balance and focus – now this simple design is testing the dexterity of fast fingered flippers everywhere. Crafted out of beech wood into an eye-catching cool design, players can flip tip and spin one MOKURU or more. Small enough to fit in a pocket, MOKURU is the go anywhere toy for all ages, a new game for kids to play in the playground, and for big kids to play in the bar, at a desk, or to be played against others in competition.
MOKURU is the new black or, as the Japanese say, Genbu. It’s available in 6 different colours for you to enjoy: green (Matcha), orange, (Kirin) white (Byakko), red (Suzaku), blue (Seiryu) and yellow (Inazuma)! It is claimed to help focus and concentration, imagination and alleviate stress!
What we thought about the Mokuru Fidget Stick:
Finn got right stuck in trying to flip it over with his fingertips and of course spin it around lying down which he thought was pretty cool because it was real fast! I have been taking our Mokuru along to restaurants and sleepover with the family and its a great little toy to keep the kids entertained for a while! Molly-May is with her 3 years a tad to young to do the tricks but non there less she is eager to copy her brother and gets right stuck in there! It’s hard to take pictures of his tricks so here is a little boomerang video of our -still a tad lousy- attempts on learning some tricks! Head over to my Instagram to check out some more videos! I am sure in time we all become Mokuru Masters:
You can find out more about this amazing little versatile desk top toy on their Facebook Page, Twitter and Instagram or head over to the official Mokuru Website.
