The summer is coming, I know I know it might not look like it from all the rain the UK had in recent weeks but with the start of the summer holidays and us moving to the seaside we have plenty of trips to the beach planned! I am slowly but surely getting the hang of it what I need to make it that perfect beach trip without tantrums, sunburns & sandy toes! One of those “must have” items is defiantly my brand new large picnic mat from Bibetta. We have been huge Bibetta fans ever since I discovered their neoprene bibs when Finn was little and our trusted Bibetta Changing Mat (check out my review) has only just recently retired thanks to MM being out of nappies now but I think I might have use for it again in September for our upcoming swim classes to keep her tootsies dry when changing her after her session.
Bibetta’s high quality neoprene mats which come in 3 sizes – Sit Mat – Medium & Large and 3 colours – Green, blue and plum) are waterproof, padded and insulating, offering the best in luxurious comfort and protection! The mats are the perfect accessory for any beach outing, picnic, music festivals or even for some indoor messy play.
Alongside the summer the festival season is in full swing already (lots of my blogger friends went to Camp Bestival over the weekend, living it up despite the storm and awful rain!) and I think the Bibetta mat would even be perfect as a underlay in the tent or to sit on outside next to the campfire so you don’t feel the cold damp ground in the evenings!
I choose the large mat in a blue leaf pattern design which measures 160cm x 125cm and is therefore bigger then your average picnic blanket (pictured above is 119cm x 119cm) which believe me isn’t the right choice for a sandy beach! I love the fact that it’s a large mat so all 4 of us can easily sit on it amongst some food and drinks.
Due to the thick wetsuit material neoprene it’s not only waterproof from both sides but any drink spillage or sand can be easily swiped off. It’s very soft and padded and it comes in a super handy matching shoulder bag with mesh insert to store it in and to make sure no sand will come back home with us! It is machine washable which is very practical but I found hanging it up on the washing line and washing it down with the garden hose works just as fine!
We can’t wait for the weather to get better again to take our new large Bibetta Mat down the beach but for now it comes in very handy for a tea party with all her animal friends in the playroom:
We absolutely love our new large picnic mat from Bibetta and instead of the usual price of £39.99 you can snap one up for only £29.99 at the Bibetta online shop – that’s a summer bargain right there! I also can’t recommend the Ultra Bibs enough, every time I see some on offer I buy them to put in my baby present box so I can make sure I have one handy when I create another baby basket for any new arrivals in my friends/family circle and I always get a call or a text once they started weaning their little ones to tell me how useful and amazing the bib is!
Disclaimer: I have been sent the large picnic mat from Bibetta for reviewing purposes, but all thoughts and opinions are mine.
