Last Friday we made our way to SEA LIFE Weymouth for a preview event of the popular CBeebies’ Octonauts brand new Octo-Glow Explorers adventure who are returning for a brand new deep-sea adventure all the way through August (until Monday the 28th).
The Octo-Glow Explorers event will offer children and their families the chance to join CBeebies’ most intrepid ocean explorers on a special mission to uncover the secret world of glow in the dark sea creatures.
Both the kids got right stuck in completing some of the special missions which involved morse codes, special coloured lenses and checking out what they can see in that black underwater themed box! The loved building the big puzzle together and watched a little bit of Octonauts shown on the screen:
As an Octo-Glow Explorer in Shellington’s Octo-Glow Lab, children will be encouraged to take part in a range of interactive activities to discover how creatures of the deep use light to hide from predators, attract their prey and communicate with each other. Newly recruited sea scientists will also be invited to share their findings in the Octo-Glow Lab with Octonauts, Kwazii and Peso, during an Octo-Glow Explorer character meet and greet.
Of course this was the highlight for Finn who gave Kwazii a high-five (unfortunately Peso wasn’t there we are guessing he was called to a very important undersea rescue mission but we have intel that he and Kwazii took some extra special holiday to meet and greet all the little Octo-Glow Explorers coming to SEA LIFE Weymouth throughout August. To finish it off both kids could choose some special limited edition pop badges (some of them even glow in the dark) to go on their Sealife lanyard which Molly-May proudly showed off to everybody:
Another feature was a Octonauts themed photo boot where the whole family can have their picture taken as you can see Mr. C. and Finnster as well as Molly-May and her friend Mia (who’s mummy Becci blogs over at Proper Livin) had a blast putting on their special Octp-Glow Pirate hats and pose for the camera:
Post-mission, all honorary Octonauts will then be encouraged to find out about other quirky critters of the seas and SEA LIFE Weymouth’s many conservation programmes by visiting the Park’s host of non-glow in the dark creatures, including seals, penguins, otters, sharks, turtles and other animals. After the event finished we headed out to explore all the other SEA LIFE creatures, we came across a cheeky Finn inside a aquarium with a massive looking fish and Molly-May loved showing us what she found lurking around a little rock. After a little play in the massive adventure playground Finn nearly got eaten by the big LEGO Shark lurking at the exit waiting for some bait:
The Octo-Glow Explorers Event is included in the usual admission price. For more information and to pre-book tickets you can visit the SEA LIFE Weymouth website.
We think its a great addition to the already brilliant SEA LIFE Weymouth and come rain or shine its a fantastic day out for the whole family to become a Octo-Glow Explorer and have some deep sea adventures with Kwazii and Peso inside the special Octonauts Tent!
