The Perfect Gadget for any Astronaut Fan!

Children Reviews Technology & Gadgets Toys & Games

There are millions of children (and adults too) who have been watching the launch of  Tim Peake heading to the International Space Station back in December 2015 and following snippets of his amazing journey like the space walk (to repair the station’s power supply), a new year message live from space and numerous experiments for ESA and international partners. Finn and his Dad where both fascinated and followed his journey all the way through. So when Brainstorm got in contact to see if we fancy to check out there Rocket Projector and Room Guard I had 2 exited people shout YES in the house!

Turn on your rocket – 3, 2, 1 and launch the amazing Rocket Projector and Room Guard. Complete with a table-top or wall mounted launch pad, the 35cm tall model rocket will bring the excitement of space travel into your bedroom. It has 24 space-themed colour images of planets, astronauts and spacecraft to project onto your walls and ceiling. Flick the switch and the Rocket blasts into room guard mode with fun flight sounds and lights. With a built-in motion sensor to detect movement, when an unwanted visitor ventures into your room you will know about it! Also includes a secret code to unlock on-line fun space facts and a Launch Zone door sticker.

If you push the black switch the 3 lights show up making 3 beeping sounds before you can hear a rocket blast. If you leave it on then you can use it in the room guard mode!

2. The 3 disks who each have eight different images can be stored in a hidden storage area in the back of the Rocket.

3. If you select your chosen disc, insert it into the top of the rocket, remove the nose and rotate to select your favourite space image.

I love the fact that you can wall mount it unfortunately we are in a rented house but as soon as we finally find a house to buy I intend to put it up on the wall. You can also swivel the rocket when it is in the launch pad which is pretty cool! Finn loves flying around the house with it and he does sometimes leave the room guard mode on which has made me jump a few times when I entered the room whilst he was at school so I can confirm its a very good guard rocket!!

Finn thought the images shown through the projector where really cool and except some of the planets he identified it all, which didn’t surprise me because his dad is rather star and planet obsessed and teaches him quite a bit over the years.  It is really hard to capture the images on the wall on a picture and Finn didn’t play ball when I ask him to show us some of the images on the projector slides so here are some pictures from Brainstorm instead to show you how it will look.

We did manage to make a little video where Finn is showing you what sounds the rocket can make:

The Rocked Projector and Room guard is for children Age 6+ and is a fascinating toy for big and small with so many features you won’t get bored and discover lots. The RRP is £29.99 check it out at Smyths Toys.

Disclaimer: I have been sent  the Rocket Projector and Room Guard from Brainstorm for reviewing purposes, but all thoughts and opinions are mine.
