In October we had a lovely afternoon with Dr. Ranj and Braun for the Launch of their new Thermometer Range and we where lucky enough to receive one of the 2 new models in our goodies bag! With Molly-May still a baby and and us already having battles when i wanted to use our old model of the Braun Thermoscan in her ear I was eager to try out the new No Touch + forehead Thermometer.
Here is a little run down of its functions:
-
No touch mode & touch modeColour coded displayBack light for nighttime readingBreakthrough technology: ultra-sensitive sensor and optical system, with clinically proven accuracySilent mode for sleeping babyFast, gentle and easy to use
Positioning guidance system
What we thought of the new Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer:
I love the fact that i can take Molly-May’s temperature whilst she is asleep without even having to disturb her and i still get a very accurate reading! And with it being switched to silent mode it won’t give out any beeping to wake her up either! You cant get a inaccurate reading because the Braun Thermometer will only work if the sensor is close enough (without touching t.he skin) The display is a nice size and the colour coded reading makes it very easy to understand the level of her temperature. With our old Thermoscan i always had to buy throwaway caps and it was rather annoying when you run out of the because the Thermometer didn’t work without it so jam glad the new Non Touch + Forehead model doesn’t need any extras!
I would not hesitate for a second to recommend this brilliant and in my option essential piece of kit for your first aid box to any new parents out there to give you a piece of mind when your little one is poorly.
And here are Dr. Ranj Top Tips to survive this years cold and flu season:
The competition is open to UK Residents only and will close at 11.59pm on the 16th of December 2014.

Mine would be to keep track of their temperature – it can change pretty quickly! Also make sure they aren't dressed with too much clothes!

A bath usually works wonders in bringing a temperature down
Have a cool wet flannel at hand to dab on the forehead and try to get your child to sip water or juice to keep hydrated. Calpol works to help bring a high temp down and also dress them in cool cotton – like a vest and pants.
Calpol and lots of hugs & kisses
ice lollies can be great to help children cool down
Calpol!
Looks great AK. We have a similar one too! #TriedTetsed
My little one hasn't had a fever yet, but dreading the day and probably ill prepared with the current kit I have. This one looks fab! x

Cold wet flannel and calpol usually works for us
ice pops and a cool cloth
Try and have them sleeping slightly upright with the head elevated as it helps mucous to drain.x
keep them cool and do not put them in a cold bath
Lots of cuddles (and calpol)
calpol is great. Try & resist putting them in bed with you, they will only be hotter with your body heat as well
Calpol and loose clothing. x
calpol, in serious case sponge down with warm (never cold) water allowing the tepid water to cool naturally on the skin, plenty of fluids and Calpol.
