Check out my Weaning Essentials for Molly-May

Baby Books Household & Health Reviews

Molly-May is coming to 9 month soon so we have been weaning for just over 3 month now and i thought i tell you a bit about our weaning essentials:

I can be daunting for any first time parents to start the weaning process and to be honest i have forgotten a lot of things so here our best weaning essentials so far:

Whats Good to Do send us the newest Annabel Karmel’s Book
which is called “Quick and Easy Weaning”  (6.99£) which we thought was a great start
to check out all the first taste purees to introducing more complex flavours and textures
with over 100 delicious recipes to choose from!

If you are more into the digital version then head over to the free Cow&Gate 5 Step Weaning Plan where you can find some great receipts as well as advice how to get started with your weaning journey.

Now we need some weaning tools:

Bizziebaby send us the rather fantastic Nutri Baby Bullet (59.99£) to check out and i have to say it looks like a great piece of kit. It comes with some many extras from the batch bowl with the power base to date dial cups who are just genius no more writing of sticky labels to remember when you filled up the food, short cups which are great for smaller portions, stay fresh lids as well as a blend and a milling blade each to puree the food as well as milling some baby rice etc. You also get a nutritious guide as well as handy pocket version of it which you can take along whilst shopping for your ingredients.

You have chosen your recipe and made your food so its onto storage:

BMP Childcare UK have the resolution for fuss free freezing of purees!
The Qubies tray (12.95£) is the brand new simple solution to pour and freeze your food. with the silicon divider you will get 8x 30ml sized portions.
They come in blue, pink and green and all Qubies Products are BPA free.
No more spooning your puree into tiny little container (and trying to find the fitting lid to it!) or ice cube trays which overspill so easily and make a mess.

I also have been using the Qubies 200ml Reusable Pouches (come in 10’s for 9.95£)
which are great for out and about they wash up quick they really easy to fill
and are dishwasher, freezer and microwave safe.
They are perfect for when Molly-May hasn’t eaten by the time
we need to head out of the door for school run.
It only takes a minute to fill her yogurt and fruit puree into it, seal it and pop into the bag.

And last but not least we serve up the food/drinks:

At the Baby Show i bought a new NUK First Choice Learner Bottle (5.99£) for Molly-May.
NUK is a German brand which i grew up with i had their dummies and bottles as a child.
I have been through ALOT of beakers when Finn was little, spending god knows how much money to get just that one cup who doesn’t leak and low and behold so far this one is the only one which doesn’t leak.

Molly-May has been checking out the spoon and had a test chew but as you can see she has the smile of approval for her new spoons from Tommee Tippee!!
Tommee Tippee have send us a Explora Weaning Box (14.99£ at Kiddicare) which consists off a first sips cup some weaning spoons and a cool and mash bowl as well as 2 pop up food storage pots who are freezer safe. All items are BPA-free, steriliser, dishwasher and microwave safe and come in either a blue/gree or orange/pink set.
I love the colour of the storage pots and we have been using them to store Molly-May’s snacks in them to keep in the changing bag there are a great size!
The cool and mash bowl has a great little extra lid to pop a spoon in for clean storage whilst not in use its such a great feature because i am forever looking for that spoon i was sure i packed in my bag!
I think the long length of the Explora first weaning spoons are brilliant to get right down to the bottom of the puree bowl or a jar and the soft tips are gentle for babies gums.
We haven’t really used the cup much but thats down to personal preferences. The cup is a great size and the handles have a nice wide curvy grip for those tiny little hands.

So there it is my list of our weaning essentials i hope they come in useful and
i wish you a happy weaning journey ahead!!

Disclaimer: I have been send all of the products mention above (except the NUK First Learner Bottle which i have purchased myself) for reviewing purposes, but all opinions and thoughts are my own.
