When i was asked via email if i would like to try out the new range of sweet and savoury goodies from Genesis Crafy i didn’t have to think twice about it!
Genesis Crafty is a modern bakery and family business owned and run by six brothers who together make baking amazing.
Originally set up by the McErlain brothers’ parents in 1968 as a simple home bakery in northern Ireland with just one bread cart, just over four decades later Genesis Crafty is a truly modern bakery but with artisan values. The bakers still flip every pancake and chaff every scone by hand.
This is what the 6 Genesis Crafty Baker have to say about themselves:
For us, baking is the perfect mix of creativity and science. We use only the finest quality ingredients, combined together with care and attention and then baked in precisely the right heat for exactly the right time.
We are a craft bakery, so we still knead every roll, flip every pancake and chaff every scone by hand. And why we’re able to create difficult, different but undeniably delicious products, every day of the week.
In our Box we received 3 different kind of pancakes (normal, blueberry and chocolate chip) as well as some sultana scones and some savoury cheese scones.
Well there wasn’t a big debate what we will have for dinner so out came the eggs, bacon and syrup to have a little American fry up for all of us:
I decided to shape the Pancakes with some cutters to make them pretty!
Please Note: No waste has been produced in the cutting out of the pancakes and all the ends which where left over have found there way quick and safe in mummies tummy!!
Our Pancake Verdict:
Mummy had the Blueberry Pancakes which had a lovely taste as well as just the right fluffiness of a pancake.
Finn had the Chocolate Chip Pancakes (what else!) and thought there where really “yummy and chocolaty”
Daddy had a mixture of the normal and the chocolate Chip Pancakes he thought they where really well flipped but the Chocolate Chip ones could have done with more Chips!
Onto the Scones:
I recently had a nice scone breakfast with my Nan’s special homemade Jam and i really loved the combination of the scone with the raisin, butter and jam it was just perfect!
When i was browsing the website i discovered that they have a pack of 9 mini sultana scones which i think are the perfect picnic food for the summer!
The boys went off to a train adventure to visit Finns Uncle who worked at the Henley Regatta so i packed them the Cheese scones which they had as a snack on the train ride back home.
They didn’t put anything on them and enjoyed them straight out of the package and thought they where very cheesy and tasty!
Overall they Genesis Crafty Products where given a big thumps up by our little chief tester:
