Difrax BtoB Breastpump Review

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Reviews

When I spotted a tweet the other day asking for Bloggers to review a new breast pump I was more then happy to help out and was very exited once I read the information: a silent hand free pump sounded like the ideal travel partner for my upcoming journey to Germany! I was also asked to review a funky Difrax S-shaped anti colic bottle which is rather handy because the pump doesn’t come with one.

Upon arrival of the Difrax BtoB breast pump I read the instructions and it was a pretty straight forward job and it was installed and ready to go in minutes.
The Difrax BtoB breast pump comes with 3 different sized inner shells in S, M and L as well as a replacement valve and a different valve for the S-shaped Bottle to use for a better suction whilst pumping milk.
As soon as the breast pump is turned on it immediately starts the so called let-down reflex mode or milk-ejection reflex mode. After 3 minutes, the breast pump automatically switches to the expressing mode but you can also switch to this mode sooner. You are free to determine the level of suction strength, there are 8 suction levels to choose from.
Here is a little bit more info and what Difrax have to say about their BtoB breast pump:
Dutch baby brand Difrax brings a mummy-friendly breast pump to the UK
Breast-to-Baby breast pump: a silent, hands free breast pump for discreet expressing anywhere
Difrax, the Dutch market leader in care products for newborns and children up to the age of 4, has developed a mummy-friendly breast pump, in collaboration with a medical team, to stimulate women to breastfeed for longer. Expressing milk can be problematic for young mothers, because the noisy, impractical breast pumps can make them feel uncomfortable. The silent, hands free Breast-to-Baby breast pump by Difrax makes it more pleasant for women to express breast milk, anywhere and anytime.
When women decide that it is time to go back to work, they often also stop breastfeeding. Studies* indicate that women find expressing unpleasant, because breast pumps can be noisy and users have to bare their breasts.
My thoughts on the Difrax BtoB breast pump:
I have been using the pump over the last month at least every other evening and my favourite feature has to be that it is hands free! The inconspicuous shell is brilliant, no need to get the whole breast out and lock yourself in a room expressing milk that’s boring enough as it is!! But i actually could watch TV with my Parents whilst pumping up which was fab.
And although not proper silent silent (but then tell me any electric item which is!) it is pretty quite in comparison to my old electronic pump so i would even be able to pump up whilst in the same room as my baby without waking her.
All the individual pieces can be undone and cleaned very easily which i think is great because there are so many pumps on the market which when it comes to cleaning can be a real nightmare! Another great feature is that the pump can be battery operated so you can use it when your are out and about!
The only thing which I think could be improved is that the pump doesn’t come with any storage cup to “catch” the milk BUT having said that you can purchase 2x 150ml milk storage containers with a connector for only £3,99 which is fab in case you already use different brand bottles to feed your baby.
Overall it is a great travel size breast pumb which has many great features!
You can purchase a Difrax b2b pump for £149,99 in the Difrax store and the funky S-Shaped bottles which a great for colic babies and come in loads of different colours cost only £7.49.
If you have any more question about the Difrax Range or want to keep an eye out for some great offers or new products why not connect via their Facebook or Twitter Page.
