I can’t walk past one, its like an addiction, yes i admit it i am a serious bargain and Charity Shop hunter!
I even have my favourite Street in NW London which has 6 in a row. When i use to Nanny in London we went to a Music class there every Tuesday and i manage to get some fab bargains!
I have a Charity Shop across the road from me which is called “Corner Store” and from the outside you wouldn’t have thought it was a Shop at all because the front bit is a little Cafe for the elderly Community of my Area to meet up to have a little Chit Chat.
The back of the Shop is a little Library and in the Main bit there not only selling second hand bargains they also have a variety of third world products and handmade items on offer.
Because i live in a rather posh area (although we don’t own a house we own a flat in a block of flats) i found some designer tops and trousers for Finn from as little as 50p they just price every item the same its amazing!
In Germany we don`t have any Charity Shops the nearest would be a 2. Hand Shop who are mostly overpriced and the items on offer a shockingly poor, worn out or even half broken, so my Mum who loves a bargain too always goes Charity shopping with me when she’s over.
So last week i decided to head to Ealing Broadway on the train to do some last minute shopping for my Hospital bag and myself before Blob arrives.
All over London there is a Chain Charity Shop called “FARA” who only sells Children Clothes, Toys, Shoes, Books and various Pregnancy Items as well as Maternity Clothes and Pushchairs.
Somehow i never manage to come out empty handed from those shops so last weeks bargains included:
Wellies for 3 Pounds, a German Baby DVD for 1.75 Pounds, a German Buggy Book for 1 Pound, a Spiderman Top for Finn for 1.50 Pounds, another rather “girly” buy for 3 Pounds and a 12 piece BRIO wooden Train Cargo set for a whopping 3 Pounds (first Present for Finn’s 4th Birthday sorted!)
Have you got any Charity Shops nearby and love browsing for bargains?
