28 weeks Check Up

Family Life Pregnancy #2

Yesterday I went to my Doctor Surgery thinking today i might be finally meeting my local Midwife but seems like she was busy or it was her day off again so the replacement Midwife whom i meet twice before greeted me with a student Midwife on her side.

She booked me in for a Glucose test next week which should have been booked a few weeks ago…but with my normal MW only on duty on certain days and the GP not mentioning anything at my 25 wk appointment it got forgotten.

Turns out my Blood pressure is back to normal again which is nice to hear and we heard a nice and strong heart beat from Blob after she examined me.

She also measured my Bump and i was 5cm over the “norm” so she booked me in again next week to see if I still measure “big” and if i need to be refereed to have a growth scan to get exact measurements.

Dont get me wrong i am certain the Midwife knows how to measure me but i think calling it too big is a bit steep considering that i got a bit of “Mummy´s own Belly” as she referred to it and i don’t feel as though my bump is too big for 28 weeks:

What do you think?
Well i guess i will see how i measure next week and take it from there.

AK xx

My wife measured big with Olivia she didnt look too big and neither do you for 28 week ! We never saw a regular midwife for any of the three pregnancys, which for me was disappointing. I went in to the first pregnancy with this lovely image of getting to knowthe midwife almost becoming friends. How wrong was I 😛 They do a great job with the resources but i wish the system accomidated a personal touch. Lovely post im sure all with be ok with measuring a tad big 🙂

yeah in my 1. pregnancy i had always the same MW and i hated her Lol thank god she retired just before i got pregnant again!! but i am lucky enough to have a fab birth center who will have all my app from 34 or 36 weeks in there which will give me a chance to "meet" at least a few of the MW who might be n charge when i go into labour.

Looks like a great bump to me! Surely everyone is different?! People keep telling me I don't look that big for twins but I tell them I feel it! I find some appointments so frustrating because you never really feel you have the time to discuss what you want too and they doesn't seem like they get to know you, such a shame it isn't different. Hope all goes well with the rest of the pregnancy xx
