Today I want to show you some yummy cakes and delicious cupcakes because let’s be honest, who doesn’t like cake??
It all started with Finns 2. Birthday and me wanting to “push the boat out” and not go for a supermarket bought cake for his special day. So the search began which turned out to be more tricky then originally thought end of July loads of cake makers are on holiday with the summer holidays just started.
Through a FB friend I got a recommendation of a lady who I hoped will give me my dream cake I found on the Internet only 1 layer of this lovely looking cake decorated with clouds and planes as you can see on the right picture this is what my expensive 30£ “cake wreck” ended up looking although to the bakers defence it did taste ok but it was still WAY less then a stunner to look at!
Hugely disappointed I scrolled FB again close to valentines day for a little treat for Mr. C. We normally don’t do presents just cards but I thought we could share this little box of delight:
I ordered 6 chocolate cupcakes with chocolate Butter cream icing and some very special toppings (a little saying of the evening we got close for the first time).
The lovely Stephanie from Crown Cakery in Hillingdon, North London put so much effort into the little details I ask her to put on the cupcakes and even came up with some ideas of her owns to make it look great. And this time round they looked stunning and tasted heavenly chocolaty.
I soon returned back with another order this time for a friend of mine who got married and her theme was all shades of pink and Steph manage to got each cupcake out of the 120 to perfection as well as a simple little cake on top and all the guest enjoyed it to the last crumb.
After joining Crown Cakery’s Facebook Page I spotted her offer of some spare vanilla cupcakes and conveniently for me I had a Birthday Party to attend so I ask her to create me some 80’s inspired toppers for the Cupcakes to bring as a Present for the birthday boy they went down a treat at the party.
If you a regular on my blog you might have spotted my last order already. Finns 3. Birthday Cake all to go with the theme of “Underground Ernie” his very own Tube Cake which was a vanilla sponge with chocolate butter cream filling needless to say it tasted just as good as all of her previous creations.
So if you live in North London or close by and need a reliable, friendly and absolutely terrifically talented cake maker check out Crown Cakery’s Website, like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to keep up with her great work!
AK xx
