Friday Morning we finally got in the car and started our first ever Family Camping Holiday!
After a smooth 1.5hrs drive we arrived in the New Forest and on the way into the Red Shoot Camping Park we where greeted by a few wild horses relaxing in the Pub Car Park, you certainly don’t get that every day!! (I will tell you more about the Camping Site in a separate post soon)
After putting up the Tent (and comparing it with our Friends and Finn´s Godparents Tent we discovered why we are the “Newbie Campers” haha! Paul and Nikky´s Tent had 2 single and 1 double sleeping department and i lovely sized “Living Room” for the wardrobe and all those other Camping essentials you need. As you can see by the size of our 4 man dome tent (which honestly was for no more then 2 adults and 1 child) with our little porch didn’t have room for any clothes so we used our car as our wardrobe for the weekend.
I certainly would improve my Camping list I wrote for the next time we will go camping again so i highlighted in red my new improvements. Unfortunately i forgot to bring my good camera so i didn´t take as many pictures as i wanted over the weekend.
In the evening we went to the local Pub attached to the Camp Site “The Red Shoot” to enjoy a nice meal and excellent service from the lovely bar staff. The Pub had a great little Playroom for Finn to get stuck into some games and toys whilst we enjoyed our dinner.
Saturday we went to the New Forest Wildlife Park (more about that soon).
In the evening tired from all the walking we decided to go to the “High Corner Inn” Pub 10 minutes drive from our Camp Site to have some Dinner and the food, ambiance and the service was excellent and they also have a brilliant zoned in Play area outside which Finn called “the Castle” and whilst he was busy making new friends and play around we enjoyed the most amazing desert (white chocolate torte) just yummy!!
The High Corner Inn is not only a lovely Pub it also got a Hotel attached to it with 7 rooms and not only are their very dog friendly if your on a horse riding holiday you could even “park” your horse in their attached stables for 15 Pounds are night talk about service!!
Sunday we went to Bournemouth (only a 30 min drive away) and had a nice stroll along the beach side until the boys decided its time to go for a dip in the sea to cool down (we forgot to pack our swim stuff but that didn´t hold them off!) whilst they had some fun in the cold sea we went to the local supermarket to get some BBQ Food for our evening meal at the Campsite.
Monday Finn enjoyed a lovely morning with his new holiday friends whilst us adults packed up the tents. On the way home we decided to have our last Holiday Pub Lunch at the High Corner Inn to enjoy another round of lovely food.
I thought i let the Pictures do the talking to sum up our weekend we loved it and the weather couldn’t be any sunnier and nicer for us!
