Last Friday we had our 12 week Scan to see “Blob” for the very first time on the Screen. What should have been a lovely experience turned into not such a pleasant day at all.
My Scan time was at 4pm so that Mr. C. didn´t have to take time off work but due to bad traffic we did run late so i called ahead telling them we will be 10 minutes late.
Not a problem they answered and i rushed in as soon as we got their whilst the Boys where trying to find a spot to park.
When i arrived at the Reception a Lady was suppose to take my 4pm slot and i told them i am fine with that because i want to wait till the Boys are here to come in too. But the Sonographer was having non of it and ushered me in the room to scan me and the reception lady told me she will send the boys straight in.
So the first 5 minutes of my first scan to see “Blob” for the first time i was upset that i had to lie down alone on the bed and the Sonographer cared more about when to clock off (i was her 2. last appointment of the day) then caring about my baby.
First time i saw “Blob” on the Screen it looked very relaxed sucking a thump and having the other hand behind his neck and kicking it little legs around. Well the Peace was shattered when the Sonographer got annoyed that it didn’t turn the way she needed it to be to take the measurements needed so she decided to hammer on my belly with her transducer to make “Blob” move. I was close to tears but didn’t have the strength to say anything and i was relived when the boys finally manage to join me.
Mr. C. asked the Sonographer if he could hear the heartbeat and see the heart and asked for some other details and a short 2 minutes later she printed out the picture and handed if over before finishing up and leaving the room ahead of us.
The only positive i got out of that day is that our new baby got a healthy heart beat and Finn finally (even though far too short) saw “Blob” and when he sees the Scan Picture he gets all exited telling us “Blob” talked to him and he said “Bubum Bubum” bless him!
Oh and my due date is now the 10. February 2014.
Here is one healthy little “Blob” in his chilled out Position:
I am defiantly showing earlier then i was with Finn even though a little bit of this belly is from my old never shifted baby weight!

Thats so off of the sonographer, imagine if that were your first baby would be even worse, so sorry she didnt take smore time with you instead of treating you like a number, so dissapointing. I guess if thats all you do all day long for a job maybe you forget people are individuals. Love the picture she got in the end though – I am already thinking it looks like a boy but I am often wrong!
That's so horrible of the sonographer to be like this, sorry you had a bit of a upsetting scan. I bet your so happy you got to see the little heartbeat 🙂
I started showing sooner with my second who is due in just over a week!
I love looking back on my blog at my bump posts
