Everybody loves a bit of re-decorating and we have been doing up our 3 Bed Flat for what seems like forever (well strictly speaking “only” the last 7 years!). From ripping out walls, removing old and rusty storage heaters, fitting a new bathroom, getting a new kitchen (well that’s still work in progress) to sorting out the electrics, work is never
finished when you want to make your house a home!
So when I heard Moneysupermarket.com started a Challenge called Room for Improvement, i jumped at the chance to be involved. They gave me 50 Pounds to get creative and show that you can make some changes on a small budget!
I would have loved to add some fresh colour with some bright red accessories into the kitchen but with it only being half finished the “After” Picture would have looked nowhere near decent enough to show the (blogging) world.
So I found another room I thought could certainly do with some love and freshness: Our Bedroom!
We have a triple IKEA PAX Wardrobe with green sliding doors and its always been hard to match green with anything so we decided on a Black&White Theme.
Here is what I purchased to get started:
Out with the old in with the new:
Here is the list of purchases&shops for you:
– BN multi acrylic frame eBay: RRP: 12.99 bought for 2.99
– Duvet cover set b&m: RRP: 18.99 down to 16.99
– fitted sheet set b&m: RRP: 6.99 down to 4.99
– black pillow cases b&m: 2.99

– Sugar Tin Dunelm Mill: 2.49
– Lampshade Dunelm Mill: RRP: 14.99 down to 7.45
TOTAL: 52.34 Pounds so just a little bit over my budget
And here are the Before and After Pictures, we even manage to get Mr. C.`s beloved Guitars on the wall we had the hooks about 2 years in the cupboard:
I enjoyed shopping and transforming our bedroom and even Finnster was joining in:
Although I love our new Bedroom transformation in my mind I am not quite satisfied yet and I hope to find a vintage wicker laundry basket (and spray it black) a heater cover or if i find a bargain even a nicer looking heater, as well as a coat rack (might sound unusual but that’s what my other half wants instead of a bedside table, to hang up all of his clothes) and a nice looking little table for my side of the bed on eBay in the near future to complete the new look.
