7″ inch LélikTec Tablet Review

Reviews Technology & Gadgets

We were asked by Moneysupermarket.com to take part at the “Inspect a Gadget” Challenge, to help them choose the best in-expensive travel gadgets for you to take on holiday.

In the Top 5 of the travel gadget list were a E-Reader, MP3 Player, Tablet, Camcorder and a portable DVD Player. I decided the blue 7″ inch LélikTec Tablet would be ideal for us and I am certain my little tester approves to get his very own gaming Tablet, no more snatching Mummy´s iPhone to play (well, here is to hope!).

You can choose between 6 different colours (black, white, red, blue, purple and pink) and here is what is in the box:

The 7″ inch Touch Screen Allwinner A13 1.0GHz CPU is a Android 4.0 operating Tablet and has 4 GB HDD 512 MB and WiFi.

It came half charged which i thought was great, no waiting around it was put to the test straight away! I loved the fact that they already installed some apps such as YouTube and Angry Birds. The Set Up was easy and simple even for a Android Novice like me!!
Here is my little tester checking out his new Gadget for the first time i think the smiles says it all, her loved watching some videos of Thomas and Friends as well as colouring in his beloved Chuggington trains:

THE GOOD:

– great size, just a perfect fit for Finn´s little hands to hold it nicely
– lightweight and small so perfect to put in your handbag when travelling on a train/plane/bus
– the bright blue colour of the tablet makes a nice change for the boring black ones out there
– loads of FREE apps to download at the Google Store
– it has a slot for SD/TF card to get more storage space
– the USB cable is a brilliant extra and i already put some pictures for Finn, mostly trains and planes of course! as well as some of his favourite songs onto the tablet via my memory stick.

THE BAD:

– it states that the average battery life is 3 hours, unfortunately this isn´t the case with the tablet i received.  I used it for less then 2 hours and the battery went flat, which is a shame and i will certainly need to invest in a car charger for it to avoid any tears when it stops half way through a very important Thomas video.

Would I buy/recommend it??

I certainly wouldn´t look into buying it for the advertised RRP of 59.99 Pounds, but Amazon are selling it currently for 45.98 Pounds now 37.98 Pounds with free delivery, which i think is a very reasonable price for it.
I would recommend this tablet but state that it is defiantly more a gaming tablet for the children and it can be slow to use sometimes.

AK xx
Disclaimer: I was send 50 Pounds from Moneysupermarket.com to take part in the “Inspect a Gadget” Challenge, the result of which enters me into a price draw for a chance to win money towards a summer holiday, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.
