Part 2 of Finn’s Ghostbuster themed 7th Birthday party is all about the games and entertainment because thats what makes a party right? Like I mentioned in my previous post which was all about the decorations and the cake (which you can read about here) Pintrest was my (best) friend in preparation of throwing this party for Finnster and his mates and thankfully I found plenty of inspiration and could not wait to get cracking in trying to somehow manage to copy the designs and get it right or at least close to looking alright! I used an old Ikea unit (where the first attempt to fablon went down the drain as you can see!) which I filled with paper cups representing the ghosts (lovingly hand painted by Molly-May, Finn and his mate Joe) where the kids could shoot them with their proton gun aka all the nerf guns I could find in the house plus some borrowed ones whom the party guests provided! Silly me wrote Proton with a N but hey the kids didn’t notice thankfully!
Now what was supposed to be a fun game shooting some papercups turned into a full on Proton Gun fight all over our garden there where bullets flying left right and centre and the youngest party members all went into the zoned in trampoline and had some bouncing fun whilst the boys really embraced the shooting! I did plan to do some musical status with my specially put together ghostbusters party playlist but it was soon time to sit down to have some food.
Just before 3pm I told the birthday boy that I think its time to call the real ghostbusters to ask for some advice regarding catching those ghosts in our garden and low and behold only minutes after the phonecall the ecto 1 arrived on our doorstep and brought along the crew of the EctoBusters! Whilst we all stood outside and they got out of the car one of Finns mate said to him “this is the coolest party ever!” (Mum points scored right there!!!) whilst Molly-May asked me “are they the real ghostbusters?” bless her! The Ghostbuster duo strapped on their rather impressive Proton Pack (which can even play the movie theme tune!!) and headed with the kids back in the garden were they used their professional ghost hunting gear to find, shoot and catch the ghost with lots of help from their little ghostbuster trainees! They even included all the Nerf guns in the ghost hunt which the kids absolutely loved and they all looked very mesmerised by the whole show! At the end when the ghost was finally caught the kids all got a certificate and we had our pictures taken and they helped us sing happy birthday to Finn at the end:
This is one of my favourite pictures of the party Isaac (who is Kara’s Son – ChelseaMamma) most certainly had the best scary face when posing with the Ghostbuster Crew! So funny!
And last but not least we even manage to get a very rare Family Picture together thanks to Kara for this and all the other fabulous pictures she manage to take throughout the party!
