Now that we finally have a house to call our own the rental rules of not hanging anything on the walls and keeping it all magenta is not applying to us anymore. We can put our own stamp to the whole of the house (in time of course)! We where really lucky that we manage to find a house which was “move in ready” of course it still got the whole decor of the previous owner a married couple with a 18 year old daughter who really where into their brown tones upstairs and downstairs! We decided to tackle Finn’s bedroom first because he didn’t have the easiest start into our relocation journey so we thought it would benefit him the most to create a brand new bedroom with a theme where he will love to play and sleep in.
Like most other 6 year olds he has been into Lego for the last year but he also discovered (around the same time) his love for Star Wars (with a lot of help of his Star Wars mad Daddy!) so we are going for a Lego Star Wars room. Unlike previous room makeovers I decided to get Finn involved and we choose some 3D effect wall stickers as well as a Star Wars Rug and a few other little deco things. But I do have a few surprises for him up the sleeves like a death star lamp shade, a Lego Darth Vader clock and some Lego bedding and a few other Lego/Star Wars related items which I hope he likes.
Here is a before picture of how his room is currently looking it has already been a little bit lego-fied with a Lego Storage Head and Lego Curtains:
And here is my Inspiration Wall as I like to call it of all the things we want to get to kit out his new room:
Hallmark kindly send me this super cool Jumbo Itty Bittys Darth Vader which has a belt to hold the normal sized Itty Bittys how ace is that:
When I asked Finn what he would like to have in his new room the first thing that he asked for was a new bed. As you can see from the above picture he currently sleeps in a mid sleeper bed which he has enjoyed for the last 3 years but he now desperately wants to have a bunk bed and having searched the internet I have come across this gorgeous white ‘Solitaire’ Bunkbed from Room to Grow which is currently only 289£ down from 449£ what a bargain! And in even better news RTG are currently running a competition to win your very model of the Solitaire design head over to their website to enter their GIVEAWAY (which is running for the whole of June 2017):
We have booked the painter to come next weekend to paint Finn’s room white and then we can start decorating and buying the furniture for it! I cant wait to show you his new room very soon! Oh and if you have a Lego mad child in your house too do let me know into the secret of the best Lego storage please?!
