Our week in Germany in the February half term just flew by and although Molly-May wasn’t herself some of the times due to a nasty cough and cold both children enjoyed every minute of spending some quality time with Oma and Opa at their house!
For the first time in history the kids and me manage to get to the airport with some time to spare oh yes a far cry from nearly missing the flight the other time! So the kids had plenty of fun exploring the tiny soft play area at Terminal 2 in Heathrow which is perfect for kids to let of some steam before heading into the plane.
The first part of the stay was filled with going for dinner with my godmum, dressing up, playing pretend Star Wars Ships with Oma’s furniture, visiting friends, playing Lego with everybody who came to visit and going for long walks:
End of the week we celebrated the 60th Birthday of my dad as well as mine, my cousins and another family friends of ours who all attended a big family bash where my brothers and their partners and a few friends played a little sketch for my dad, sorry there are no pictures to be seen on my post but there all a bit shy! My future SIL also tried to take some nice family pictures of us 4 and as you can see from the outtake picture bottom right the kids thought it was rather fun and out of the 20 odd pictures the perfect one is yet to be found!
It was lovely to see all my family and some of our family friends who I haven’t seen in over 10 years and to introduce them to my kids and husband! The kids had so much fun running wild around the big hall and playing games with their 2. cousins, eating ice lollies and we even gave Finn a little digital camera and he decided to take about 1.567 pictures I kid you not! He got very snap happy and what I have looked through so far he has taken fancy to take very close-ups of eyes, drinks and toys! He was also allowed to talk through the microphone together with Oma to ask all the cake makers of the day to stand up so we all can give them a round of applause but he decided to tell us all to give them a slap instead which made us all laugh out loud. Otherwise his german has come on heaps again non there less thanks to him visiting his favourite kindergarten a few times in the week when we where there! They even told us next time Molly-May is allowed to come and stay too which she would love to but unfortunately although she understands every word in german she still needs to improve her speaking german a little bit more before she can go and visit otherwise all the children will not understand a word what she is saying! We can’t wait for our next visit but first we will have Oma and Opa come to stay with us for a change over Easter!
