A while (while) back I was lucky enough to be invited by the team of Joe Blogs come to the Dyson Showroom and check out the all new Dyson V6 Total Clean Cordless Hoover and what a treat it was you can read all about the event in my post #NoCordsAttached. I was delighted when Currys was kind enough to send me my very own V6 Total Clean (which is an exclusive to Currys) to play with especially because back then we only just moved into our new rented house and having lived in a flat for over 8 years beforehand the whole cleaning upstairs and downstairs was all new to me and as much as I loved my trusted Dyson DC41 it is rather a beast of a Hoover in comparison to the super lightweight V6! So with the DC41 retired in my under the stairs cupboard for quite some time now the V6 has got his work cut out with our busy 4 headed household and one rather large family car! But he is keeping up very well with all the chores thrown to him and he has so far never let me down! Yeah I admit I would be even more chuffed if he could last a bit longer (battery wise) but then it might be purely down to the fact that I am hoovering too slowly and I do mostly forget to turn off the MAX power mode button for that extra bit of sucking power.
Now here are some facts about the Dyson V6:
…..because lets face it everybody wants to read the ins and outs and what it comes with, before deciding if he is really the right one for you(r house)!
Dyson V6 Absolute – Cordless versatility. full-size ability. The Dyson Digital Motor V6 sits at the core of all Dyson’s new digital slim vacuums. It provides more suction than any other stick vacuum in a nimble format meaning it can clean the car, the carpet, the ceiling and everything in between. The Dyson V6 Absolute is our most powerful cordless machine yet, allowing you to tackle all dust and debris types with cordless versatility. Efficient filtration removes 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, capturing allergens and expelling cleaner air.
The machine comes with two cleaner heads which tackle dirt of all kinds:
Direct Drive Cleaner head – 150% more power at the cleaner head
The problem: Spills and stains are often trampled deep into carpet pile; mud from children playing in the garden, pastry flakes from an over enthusiastic dinner party guest. Many vacuum cleaners fail to dislodge the ground-in dirt, simply skimming the surface of the carpet. Your carpet pile is a hiding place for dust and debris. Not to mention the 1,000 dust mites per square metre in your carpet.
The solution: The Dyson V6 direct-drive cleaner head has 150% more brush bar power. This agitates carpet pile more than any other cordless, tackling ground-in spills and stains.

Hard Floor Cleaner head – tackles fine dust and debris
The problem: Constant movement of people, and pets, throughout a household leaves microscopic dust including pollen, mould spores and allergens compacted deep into hard to reach spaces between floorboards and tiles.
The solution: The Dyson Hard Floor Cleaner head has four debris channels that create a tight seal between the tool and the floor. When open the channels tackle larger debris, when closed the airflow is concentrated removing fine dust from deep within crevices. The swivel neck pivots 180 degrees to clean awkward gaps and spaces. It also comes with a very convenient docking station (we haven’t put ours up due to being in a rented house but I cant wait to put it up when we finally own our very own one – watch this space!) as well as mini motorised tool (for all your stairs) a combination tool (which I find very handy for the car but its very good on shelfs too) and a rigid crevice tool (for all those hard to get areas underneath the kitchen cupboards). Emptying the bin couldn’t be easier, you just need to push the red button to open the lid.Run time is 20 minutes in normal mode and 6 minutes in max mode
Bin Volume is 0.4 litres
Charge time is 3.5 hours
Weight is 2.8kg

What I thought about the Dyson V6 Total Clean:
Having used the V6 daily for quite some time now I am still in love with it since I first laid my eyes on it at the #NoCordsAttached Event. Its super light comes with enough accessories to make life easy and your house spotless again. We somehow moved into a house full of spiders & spider webs so using the long tool aka the rigid crevice tool to get rid of it is a lifesaver and I was never happier to clean my stairs although I sometimes have to fight over that task with both of my kids because they love using the “little” Hoover to clean up. The whole house bar the kitchen and bathroom is carpet so I mainly use the direct driver cleaner head and cannot fault it. It’s very easy to clean with the side coming off with a thin coin and you can rinse it out under the water. The only thing Dyson could improve is a little warning light which comes on a minute or 2 before the battery goes flat that would be fantastic otherwise I cannot fault my Dyson V6 and it is my most used cleaning item in the house! But it goes way beyond the carpets and stairs in my house so far I saved myself quite a few quid and stopped using the valley services in local shopping centre car parks and thanks to my V6 every few weeks my family van is free of hula hoops, mud and other unidentified crumbs for at least 48hrs (depending on the little passengers I drive around) the combination tool is great to get all that dried up mud and the stubborn crumbs out of the car floor and helps to get around all the corners!
The price tag of over 400£ is quite hefty and yes for sure there are other branded handheld Hoovers out there from as little as 100£+ but non come with the quality and the powerful technology which sits inside that tiny little motor and Dyson also comes with some great costumer services thrown into it which I experiences when I had problems with my other Dyson Hoover its a simple YES from me and well done Dyson for yet another genius product!
You can buy your very own Dyson V6 Total Clean over at Currys. Happy Hoovering!!!

I love a good Dyson hoover, I’ve had my eye on this one for a while, with 3 floors in my house it would be a lot easier than lugging my bigger Dyson up and down the stairs!
