After a rather stressful Friday morning of tears (from all 3 of us!) I manage to get them and me dressed bathed did the nursery run and even manage to go to the hairdressers with Molly-May in two to get my hair done (go me!!!)
After a quick catch up with my soon to be Father in law he spontaneously decided to join me on my 1hr trip with one change to my hotel.
I didn’t think they could be so many stairs at kings cross station (maybe I just didn’t spot the lifts??) so he was a godsend and my first saviour of the day (oh yes there are more of those to come)!
After sharing a cab to the BritMums venue with Ruth (RocknRollerBaby) I waited for my roommate Jo (Sit Still Monkeys) to come and meet me outside The Brewery and along came a very special and helpful Butterfly the lovely Liska (New Mum Online) who rescued a starving blogger (silly me didn’t pack a lunch) by offering to fetch a sandwich whilst going to get one for herself! Thank you!!
Although I didn’t join the “tiara brigade” I really enjoyed the opening speech from Emma Freud very witty indeed!
I only attended one session which was by Lucy (Captured by Lucy) and it was highly interesting but I didn’t take any notes because I was busy feeding MM I can’t wait to try out her tips (after sourcing other bloggers notes/pictures of her slide show on Twitter)!
It was lovely to walk through the various stalls and talk to loads of brands, i score a goal with Coca Cola (well almost!! I manage to wiggle out of that one and still got a ball for Finnster) eat too much delicious food check out what a fabulous Morrisons Chef created in the Morrison’s Lounge (I couldn’t resist trying it AND finishing the whole thing!!) a refreshing and not too sweet Summer Sunday:
And how ueber cool is this!! My very own personalised Coke Bottle thanks to #cocacola:
So this was all of my good bits of my first day at BritMums and here are my not so good bits:
I intended to go to the hotel to freshen up and change MM into her night clothes so we can head out to join some Kiddiecare Bloggers as well as catch up with the lovely Jennie from Kiddicare, but once in the room I got a pretty nasty headache who just didn’t fancy shifting followed by a meltdown of a overly tired baby who after screaming down the entire coop finally went to sleep!
The second thing was I really was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of bloggers and stuck to my known to me blogger friends.
Although I did have a few chats with various people I haven’t meet yet It seemed they where so many more I wanted to talk to and I really hope I get a chance to do so on Day 2!
