After all that gloomy weather we recently had (hurrah for the sun making a appearance that it can finally feel like the summer is here!!) its always hard to entertain kids indoors. Mr. C. recently found his Creative side, well I think he had it all along and done some fantastic things work related (he is a electrician) for our home but the other day he came up with this little nifty creation:
A Car wash for all of Finnster´s Matchbox Cars, Trucks, and even Thomas Trains to come out all nice and shinny again. Its made out of 2 pens, 2 Toilet rolls, a old box (from amazon nice and sturdy) and white paper for the brushes.
After watching Mr. Tumble on TV the other day (his favourite show) he saw Justin and a Group of School Kids driving through a Car wash on the way to school.
He was fascinated by it and since that day he gets all exited when he sees a Garage and asks me: “Car dirty Mummy? Need a Car Wash??” Although he likes to watch the Car getting washed he is horrified of actually staying in the car whilst the big brushed do there job so he likes to watch from a distance.
Anyway he loves his new Toy and not a day goes by where the Car Wash is out of order.
A few Days later after arriving home from some food shopping Mr. C. and a very happy Finnster showed me what they have been playing with for the last few hours.
The “Funny Faces” Game includes little Balls made out of Tissue with some tape around it:
Although both of Mr. C.´s Cash Free Creation won´t win a design award any time soon, they both are very loved and played with items in our house right now.
Do you have any tips for homemade games or other rainy day activities? Would love to hear some more ideas.
AK xx
