When Finn was 8 month old I decided it was time to downsize on the pushchair front and find something lighter with a smaller fold then my previous one. Although I was tempted to get a umbrella style stroller which I already used whilst nannying older Toddlers, I got into the Baby Jogger hype and after reading through various reviews and checking out videos I decided I really want to try a BJCM (Baby Jogger City Mini) for myself.
The BJCM has many brilliant features:
– easy quick fold (with one hand) and small fold which is handy in a smaller car boot
– swivel wheels
– nice large seat
– car seat and the newer models are carrycot compatible too
– lightweight (only 7.6 kg)
– padded seat
– large basket and storage pocket at the back of the seat
-very large hood which is great for the sun or when your little one is sleeping as well as when it´s raining so far I never used my rain cover with a BJCM because the foot muff covers the lower bit and the hood protects the child from the rain.
On the hunt for a bargain I stumbled across a red and black BJCM on eBay. The family only used it for 1 year and due to them relocating to another country they decided to part with it, lucky me!!
Here is Finn in his first BJCM:
But my Baby Jogger love didn´t stop there, I wanted to go bigger and better and luckily BJ just brought out the BJCM GT and I couldn´t resist to sell my beloved BJCM and make some more pennies and order it from amazon to be delivered to my motel in Florida (crazy things us pramaholics do to save 100 pounds, ey?!!)
Doesn´t it look smashing?
They added some new features from the normal City Mini to the GT:
– adjustable handlebar
– forever air tires
– bigger seat (in the length)
– better basket
Although the GT didn´t stay in our Family for long I must say it does everything I would want from a Buggy, off roader, small fold, light, car seat compatible and a very big hood i think it would have been perfect for Finn if he would have been around 1 year old. But with him already turned 2 years It wasn´t used as much as I wanted it to be so we hart heartily sold it on to get a smaller model.
Well I thought that was the end of it for my journey as Baby Jogger Fan but how wrong was I??? Somehow a while ago I got the itch again and decided on this lovely BJCM Model. I bought the Frame preloved and got the blue 2008 fabric new from Kooltrade.
Since parting with it I went through a Maxi Cosi Noa and a Quinny Zapp (reviews on those coming soon) but there just not the same!
Opps…..I did it again say hello to BJCM #6 shhh a few have been bought to sell again or even hid out in the garage ;o)
I got a swanky preloved RoRo liner with the “Cat in the Hat” fabric and already had some lovely comments how unique it looks!
Overall I would give the BJCM/ BJCM GT 8 out of 10 Points and the only negative I can find with it is that it is not parent facing (fear not BJ already thought of that and created the Baby Jogger Versa which does exactly that).
